The Weeknd’s Album In-The-Making Is The Last Hurray!

Abel Tesfay is breaking up with the music industry as he embarks on an alleged love ride with Brad Pitt’s ex-wife, Angelina Jolie. While The Weeknd may have said everything without saying, his fans surely need the four-time Grammy Award winner to share more about this heartbreaking decision. One angered fan from his XO crew responded on Twitter, “He better be able to act or I’m never going to forgive him for killing The Weeknd.” Another tweeted, “He’ll probably come back in a few years or do songs for shows and movies he is working on.”

One fan asked him not to become an actor instead. One fan reminded everyone that the rapper takes a 6-month hiatus, but always “returns back as The Weeknd”. One can only agree because the rapper said the same in 2016 and came up with hit albums like After Hours and Dawn FM.

The Weeknd Idiolised Himself A Bit Too Much With The Idol

Abel Tesfay’s controversial, proactive, and troubled HBO series, The Idol premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023. The series, which had its fair share of troubles in the making, also showcases Euphoria showrunners, Reza Fahim and Sam Levinson. The upcoming Lilly-Rose Depp-based series’ synopsis suggests:

“After a nervous breakdown derailed Jocelyn’s (Lily-Rose Depp) last tour, she’s determined to claim her rightful status as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America.

Her passions are reignited by Tedros (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye), a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or the deepest and darkest depths of her soul?”

It was previously reported that the rapper scrapped most of the footage of the original director Amy Seimetz, who quit the series after 80% of shooting amid irreconcilable creative differences with the rapper. Then came Sam Levinson because the guy was on board with the Kiss Land artist.

One of the crew members revealed that the rapper wanted to make the series all about himself. Another simply described it as a “s*xual torture p*rn”. While that’s a different story, seeing a rapper with so much potential bow down so early is truly saddening, again, if he is leaving to become an actor!

The Idol premieres on HBO on June 4, 2023.
