Forging a reality of her own in the Disney+ series WandaVision was something that only Elizabeth Olsen could have done. But, besides being the Scarlet Witch who can change the molecular structure with her mutant powers, Olsen is quite the opposite in reality.
Joined the MCU after the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Olsen was able to bring a lot to the table and she definitely lived up to her iconic comic counterpart.
According to the actor, working with other female actors helped her navigate into the expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe with ease. The one co-star she shared a strikingly special relationship with has been the much-loved Black Widow – Scarlett Johansson.
During the press junkets for last year’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Olsen got excitingly candid about her feelings for Johansson after the latter’s surprising remarks on the former’s acting.
Scarlett Johansson’s Remarks On Elizabeth Olsen
Johansson, working for over a decade on multiple Marvel Studios projects, has acquired an incredibly high level of experience and confidence.
It may have appeared over the years that the Black Widow can hold her own against the enemy, but Elizabeth Olsen’s entry into the MCU gave her the relief she needed.
In a conversation with Sirius XM network, she shared –
“When Lizzie came on it was semi-balanced out. It was very heavy on testosterone for a very long time.”
Johansson also had some remarks about Olsen’s acting –
“Her character has such a sensuality to her, and she has such a passion. I was amazed by it. It put me to shame.”
Johansson’s Black Widow, however, didn’t flinch to make the ultimate sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame to pave the way for Olsen in future films.
Elizabeth Olsen And Scarlett Johansson Inspired Each Other
The multiversal catastrophe caused by the Scarlet Witch in the sequel to Doctor Strange helped Elizabeth Olsen tap into her own oceanic potential a lot more than usual.
Getting the talented Xochitl Gomez on board the film who was only 16, made Olsen realize how far women have come, and she has Scarlett Johansson to thank for that.
In the aforementioned Variety interview, she shared how Johansson had been an inspiration.
“I remember being on ‘Ultron’ and being amazed by her ease and her comfort and how she includes the crew in everything, and how she makes everyone part of the team. I’ve really taken that into my life since then.”
