Jennifer Garner starred in the indie film Butter, a satirical comedy about an Iowa state butter sculpture contest, back in 2011. The Daredevil actress played Laura Pickler, an overly competitive and ambitious woman in the film. A box-office bomb, the film also saw the collaboration between Garner and Hugh Jackman for the first time.

Although both actors were excited to work together, things got really awkward when they had to shoot a s*x scene inside a car for the movie.

Why Did Jennifer Garner Call Her S*x Scene ‘Horrifying’?

Both Jennifer Garner and Hugh Jackman enjoyed making the film, except for one particularly awkward moment. Although there was no actual physical interaction in the scene, the actors had to convey intimacy through their voices. Garner and Jackman got into the car along with the director and sound guy. But the actors had to go one at a time due to some technical issues.

The Adam Project actress shared that the scene was horrifying, especially since she and Jackman were doing a movie together for the first time. The Elektra actress jokingly remarked:

“Of course, it was like the first day we worked together. It’s always like that. It’s always like, ‘It’s nice to meet you, now let’s moan and groan’.”

Jennifer Garner, who also co-produced the movie, revealed later that she enjoyed the change from doing wholesome characters to playing a mean-spirited role in the film.

What Did Hugh Jackman Say About His S*x Scene With Jennifer Garner?

Hugh Jackman shared Garner’s opinion that the scene was indeed humiliating. The X-Men actor mentioned that he would never forget the unconventional manner in which he had recorded the intimate moment. He said:

“It’s kind of humiliating as we discovered he couldn’t record us both at the same time, so one had to perform, then the other had performed and I’m really glad she went first because I never would’ve gone as far as she did unless she had gone first. I don’t think I’ve ever been more embarrassed in my life.”

Nevertheless, the Logan actor was thrilled to be part of the project and even appreciated the 13 Going On 30 actress for casting him in the role. The Prestige actor had only a week of work, but he had a blast, and he also added that the cast was fantastic.
