Many famous people have look-alikes who are similar to them in appearance—they may both be redheads, blondes, or petite. However, there are times when two celebrities have such a similar appearance that neither the fans nor the media can tell them apart. Similar is the case of the Love Actually actress, Keira Knightley.
Well, the 38-year-old actress makes her living by playing various characters on screen, but she does not even have to try in real life. James Corden once questioned her on The Late Late Show with James Corden, “Do you ever get mistaken for other actors?”
The Pride and Prejudice actress revealed that fans often mistook her for a number of other celebrities.
Back in 2018, Knightley appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden, where they discussed the instances in which they were mistaken for other famous people.
She began by mentioning the Israeli-American actress, her on-screen body double, and a fellow Star Wars cast member.
When Keira Knightley Was Mistaken for Natalie Portman
Keira Knightley admitted that sometimes she likes playing along when people mistake her for other famous people. The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2018, featured a question about the 38-year-old actress being mistaken for other actors. To which the actress replied:
“All the time. Well, I’ve been chased through an airport as Natalie Portman. I mean, Natalie Portman, a lot. … I’ve had many pictures as Natalie Portman.”
There is more, though. She continued:
“I’ve been chased through a park as Kate Winslet. Quite a few have come over to me to ask me to say hello to Daniel Craig for them because they think I’m Rachel Weisz. She’s lovely.”
While the mother of two can understand how people might confuse her with the three actresses, she was perplexed as to why they might think she was a particular pop star:
“And then, Britney Spears. The other ones I get, I’m like English, actress.”
The Pride & Prejudice actress continued by stating that she was in Los Angeles at the time:
“I don’t know. That was a weird one. So I’ve had my picture as Britney Spears as well.”
The 44-year-old host then joked:
“I would love to see that person with their friends going, ‘Guys, I just met Britney Spears, look’ and they go, ‘Oh my god, no you didn’t, no you didn’t, no you didn’t, you met Keira Knightley.’”
The Atonement actress did, however, acknowledge that she “quite” liked being mistaken for someone else in public. The actress mused:
“I’m much more polite I think when people think I’m somebody else.”
Did Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman Get Along While Filming Star Wars?
The first film in the prequel trilogy, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, came out in 1999. George Lucas was the director, and it introduced a new group of characters to the Star Wars universe. A perfect balance of seasoned actors and newcomers made up the cast of this movie.
Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman met when they were both working on The Phantom Menace. The two actresses became fast friends after connecting over their similar experiences in making the movie.
Knightley described Portman as “one of my closest friends” in an interview with The Guardian:
“We’ve been through so much together. We’ve been on the same journey, and we’ve seen each other grow up”.
The Begin Again actress played a minor but noteworthy role of Sabé in The Phantom Menace. On the other hand, Queen Padmé Amidala was portrayed by Portman in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Both actresses have often been confused because of Knightley’s striking resemblance to Portman, who played Queen Amidala.
Well, watch Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, which is streaming on Disney Plus.
