Katie Holmes, the actress who married Tom Cruise in 2006, divorced the actor soon after they had their daughter Suri Cruise. Having custody of their daughter, the actress hasn’t publicly spoken much about her.

In recent news, fans were delighted to hear about Tom Cruise’s daughter when Holmes, in a surprising turn of events, talked about her in public. Recalling how Holmes was the same age as her daughter when she became famous, fans hinted at an undertone of comparison!

Katie Holmes is an actress known for her role as Joey Potter in the 1998 drama series Dawson’s Creek. After divorcing Cruise in the year 2012, Holmes went on to star in several of her own iconic movies and series.

In an interview with Variety, the actress recently talked about her and Tom Cruise’s daughter Suri Cruise. Recalling how they spent their lockdown days, Holmes stated that her daughter started watching Dawson’s Creek. Fans were quite excited to hear Katie Holmes talk about her and Tom Cruise‘s daughter since she doesn’t do it often.

“[Suri] has seen Dawson’s Creek, and I think it’s probably weird since she’s a teenager. I’m not like, ‘You need to watch mommy’s work.’ But during the pandemic, we had a good laugh about it. It’s wild to have a daughter who’s almost the same age as I was when I began all this.”

Although Katie Holmes doesn’t discuss much about her personal life, the actress did admit that the initial days after divorcing Cruise were really tough to handle for her.

In an interview with InStyle, Katie Holmes talked about the next few moments that were quite intense for the actress. Holmes revealed that her divorce from Tom Cruise was very messy and that she received quite a bit of attention back in 2012.

“That time was intense. It was a lot of attention, and I had a little child on top of it. We had some funny moments out and about in public. So many people I didn’t know became my friends and helped us out, and that’s what I love about the city.”

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were eventually separated in 2011 following which a court proceeding declared them legally single and their divorce was finalized in 2012. Cruise and Holmes haven’t remarried yet with Katie Holmes getting full custody of their daughter Suri Cruise.
