Even though among all of his marriages, his bond with Nicole Kidman remained the strongest and lasted over a decade before parting ways, their marriage would come under different controversies from time to time.
But among all the claims, one of the gossip comprised the theory of Tom Cruise being secretly gay, which was also parodied in Family Guy, However, it didn’t take long before Kidman herself addressed the issue, as Cruise would also found himself under the speculations of cheating the Big Little Lies star with an adult star.
Nicole Kidman brushed off the rumors surrounding Tom Cruise’s sexuality
After the rumors surrounding Tom Cruise‘s sexuality garnered heat, with many tabloids speculating that Kidman’s and Cruise’s PDA was a way to cover his tracks, the couple eventually addressed the issue. Being frustrated by the rumors that surrounded their marriage, the Eyes Wide Shut stars brushed off these claims, as they expressed their anger with this scenario. Reflecting on the situation, Tom Cruise stated,
“I feel very angry about it. I just try to remind Nicole… ‘You have me, you have the kids, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.” Kidman also brushed off these rumors by stating, “Look, Tom and I are heterosexual, we’re together, we’re in love. It’s weird even to have to answer that question.”
However, things took a wild turn after Cruise was accused of allegedly cheating on Kidman with adult star Chad Slater, which was speculated as the reason behind the couple’s divorce. But this allegation didn’t sit right with Cruise.
Tom Cruise denied the allegations of being in relation with adult star Chad Slater
Although Slater alleged that Nicole Kidman caught him and the Top Gun star having s*xual intercourse, which allegedly led to their divorce, Tom Cruise didn’t wait long before blasting these claims. Tom Cruise also went on to take legal action against the adult star, as he claimed he never even met Chad Slater and would go on to win the lawsuit against Slater for $10 million back in 2003.
Even though the secrets behind the duo’s eventual divorce remain under wraps to this date, it’s highly unlikely that it had anything to deal with Chad Slater. And it didn’t take long before Cruise and Kidman moved on with their lives, as the Mission: Impossible star keeps on dominating Hollywood.
