About Mark Wahlberg’s Transformers: The Last Knight
Transformers: The Last Knight was a sci-fi action film based on Hasbro’s Transformers toy line. It was the franchise’s fifth installment, and the last was Transformers: Age of Extinction, released in 2014. The movie was directed by Michael Bay and taken from the screenplay by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Ken Nolan. Mark Wahlberg reprised his role as lead for the film, and other actors like Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, and Glenn Morshower also reprised roles from the first three parts. The new faces in the movie included Laura Haddock, Isabela Moner, Jerrod Carmichael, Santiago Cabrera, and Anthony Hopkins.
The movie was released in 2017 and turned out to be a box-office failure. It was made with a budget of $260 million, and gross global collection was $605 million. A spin-off prequel of the franchise named Bumblebee was released at the end of 2018, which was received well by the audience.
With the failure of Transformers: The Last Knight at the box office, the exit of actor Mark Wahlberg seems like a sensible choice. He was later seen in Instant Family, Mile 22, All the Money in the World, and more. In 2022, Wahlberg was appreciated for his role in Uncharted.
