Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is going to be the first major title built specifically for PS5. There were a lot of titles like God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West, but they were half influenced by a PS4 release. The Director of Sound Design at Insomniac Games, Jeremie Voillot, posted on LinkedIn expressing his warm gratitude and appreciating the handwork of the team for making Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 become a reality.

Jeremie Voillot said in the post, “I’m not sure the world is quite prepared for what they are about to release.”

He also expressed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the best works of Insomniac Games, “It’s stunning and their best work yet.”

This post had several things that imply the onset of something unique waiting for the fans. Insomniac Games is a renowned name in the industry for its quality releases. Titles from Spider-Man and Ratchet and Clank IPs were well received in the past seven years, so the expectations from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are pretty high. Anything that scores above 90/100 on Metacritic is considered a masterpiece in the community. Insomniac studios might just hail their title along those scores with their upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Insomniac Games announced the release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 at Summer Game Fest 2023. The triple-A title will grace gamers on PlayStation 5 on October 20, 2023. However, it has been confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be a PS5 exclusive. It’s rather unfortunate for players who were looking forward to playing this game on old-gen consoles or any other hardware.

Players will require at least 98 GB of free space in their system to play the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Compared to Insomniac Games’ prior Spider-Man title, this game is huge. For a better understanding, Marvel’s Spider-Man was nearly 45 GB during its release on PS4. The Remastered Spider-Man on PS5 was around 71 GB, and Miles Morales is about 54 GB. Even compared to all these three games, the upcoming title from Insomniac Games is massive.
