Neill stated that the news surrounding his name was only about his cancer and that it became “tiresome” and he fully intends on having that turned around. He revealed that he will begin filming for Apples Never Fall with Annette Bening in just a few days and hopes that the headlines will have something else to focus on now. He captioned the post,

“My news seems to be all over the news at the moment, and it’s sort of ‘Cancer! Cancer! Cancer!’ which is slightly tiresome because as you see, I am alive and well and I have been in remission for eight months, which feels really good. And I am alive and kicking and I am going to work. I’m very happy to be going back to work. We start filming in seven days time.”

It sure looks like Neill is ready to take things into his own hands and does not want to be felt sorry for. In his own words, he is alive and kicking and we cannot wait to see him in hundred percent health!

In the same Instagram post, while Neill was talking about moving on to better and bigger things, he mentioned his upcoming book, Did I Ever Tell You This? He stated that he never intended on writing a book but it was something he did to keep him busy during the countless hours of treatment. He added that the book is all about the gratitude he has for life.

“So here I am and I just wish the headline wasn’t ‘that thing’ so much, because the main this is that i have written this book, it’s called ‘Did I Ever Tell You This?’ And it does mention cancer because that’s the sort of context in which i wrote it. But I didn’t really mean to write a book, I needed something to do while I was undergoing treatment…The tone of the book is one of surprise. I never thought that I would have a career as an actor, let alone an actor on screen. But that’s kind of what happened and I am full of gratitude looking back on this life, and that’s what the book is about.”

In an interview with The Guardian, he stated that he couldn’t care less about dying. But what he does care about is wanting to see his work mature and his grandchildren grow up. He does not want to stop living. He also stated that while he is not completely off the hook, he does not have cancer in his body anymore. Here’s wishing him nothing but a healthy life full of everything he desires!
