Shea Whigham Was Skeptical About Tom Cruise’s Stunts!

Much to the actor’s surprise, all the stories about Tom Cruise’s adrenaline rush were indeed true since the actor completely does his own stunts. In an interview with GQ, Whigham talked about his favorite scene in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. Recalling the iconic Cruise’s jump from that ramp that had the whole world talking, Shea Whigham stated that there was no hint of CGI used and he was left impressed.

“The jumping off of the ramp that we’ve seen in the behind the scenes. That was like nothing I’ve ever seen. We landed in Norway and the first thing, I think, was going to be that jump. I thought to myself, ‘There has to be a little bit of smoke and mirrors.’ You know what I mean? It’s not true, He does it all. That was as harrowing as anything I’ve ever seen”

This wasn’t all since the actor created a mystery about the persona that he portrayed in the movie. Talking about the character of Jasper Briggs, Shea Whigham stated that he is not an antagonist nor a protagonist but he’s just a misunderstood character.

After watching Tom Cruise’s death-defying stunts, the talk came on Shea Whigham’s character that he portrays in the movie. With the role of Jasper Briggs in his hand, Whigham replied negatively that he’s not the bad guy in the movie, he’s just a misunderstood person.

“No, no, no, no, no. I would say…misunderstood a little bit. It’s no secret, Ethan Hunt is somewhat rogue in the way he operates. My character starts out by-the-book. It’s a very personal thing with he and I, that you’ll see”

With an incredulous star cast for the ride, Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One has been hailed as the franchise’s best. The movie received a high rating of 8.2/10 on IMDB and a whopping 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is currently screening in theaters across the world.
