After learning about the actor’s genetic predisposition for Alzheimer’s disease during his time on Limitless, reports speculated that the Extraction 2 star might consider retiring from showbiz entirely. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth, as he recently addressed these rumors.
Although the recent years haven’t been easy for the actor, following Thor: Love and Ṭhunder‘s poor performance alongside his health concerns, but he isn’t ready to say his goodbyes to Hollywood.
Chris Hemsworth finally addressed his retirement rumors
Reflecting on some reports claiming that his health concerns might impact the actor’s career moving forward, Chris Hemsworth didn’t hold back while washing off these speculations. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the Thor star clarified he isn’t going anywhere from the film industry anytime soon and even explained his brief hiatus from making movies had nothing to do with his health concerns. He further explained that spending time with his family was the major reason behind his break and claimed his health discoveries were blown out of proportion. He said,
“It got a little over-dramatized like I was potentially retiring because of this thing. Which just isn’t the case. My concern was I just didn’t want to manipulate it, overdramatize it, and make it into some hokey grab at empathy or whatever for entertainment. It’s not like I’ve been handed my resignation,”
With the beloved Marvel star finally touching on various subjects, he also opened up about the criticisms surrounding Thor: Love and Thunder and how it impacted him.
Chris Hemsworth admits Thor: Love and Thunder was too silly
Thor: Love and Thunder was one of the biggest misfires of MCU and sums up the underwhelming phase four for the studio, and Chris Hemsworth recently shared his viewpoint on the film’s reception. The actor addressed the criticisms against the film and claimed that they were having immense fun filming the fourth part, which end up resulting in a somewhat silly product. He explained,
“I think we just had too much fun. It just became too silly. It’s always hard being in the centre of it and having any real perspective… I love the process, it’s always a ride. But you just don’t know how people are going to respond.”
But this wasn’t the only time Hemsworth opened up about the situation, as recently he revealed the criticisms from the likes of Scorsese and Tarantino for the MCU have been depressing for the actor.
