While James Gunn experiments with DC, Andy Muschietti’s The Flash arrived in theatres. Fans seemingly appreciated the storyline and the multiverse idea in the movie, however, pointed out how the CGI and VFX turned out to be epic failures. Although The Flash appearing as an unfinished version feels downright embarrassing, the director had something completely different on his mind.
Admitting how the terrible CG effects were weirdly intentional, Andy Muschietti told io9, that it was done on purpose to give “Barry’s POV”. However, viewers weren’t quite impressed and simply didn’t buy Muschietti’s explanation. Instead, Zack Snyder fans gathered on Twitter to troll and criticized James Gunn for his incompetency.
Andy Muschietti Purposefully Implemented Terrible CGI
As movie studios constantly deal with several things, all at once, like budgets, deadlines, distribution, and such; they often miss out on small details. And one of the easiest departments that get neglected in the process, is the visual effects. If one ever notices carefully, one can find subtle CGI mistakes in most films. However, nothing compares to the nightmarish CG effect and VFX of The Flash.
Just released in theatres, DC’s first dive into multiverse story, The Flash, happens to have unavoidably bad visuals that have been labeled downright embarrassing by the audience. Although the story has been deemed legitimately good, DC’s expensive VFX department has been called out for its utter failure. However, to everybody’s surprise, Andy Muschietti confirmed his purpose behind the terrible CGI.
Although The Flash appeared in theatres with just straightforward issues with VFX execution, Andy Muschietti confirmed it to be an intentional artistic decision. Discussing with io9, the director claimed, “The idea, of course, is we are in the perspective of the Flash. Everything is distorted in terms of lights and textures.” Further, he explained, “We enter this ‘waterworld’ which is basically being in Barry’s POV. It was part of the design so if it looks a little weird to you that was intended.”
Zack Snyder Fans Criticize James Gunn For The Flash
According to Andy Muschietti, The Flash‘s VFX was intended to be innovative and unprecedented, as it appears. However, audiences and fans weren’t quite impressed with the explanation. Instead Zack Snyder fans found another excuse to criticize James Gunn for his incompetency at creating a new DCEU. Despite spending millions in VFX, when the studio delivered compromised visual effects, Snyder fans gathered on Twitter to troll Gunn.
Sadly the Twitter war between Zack Snyder fans and James Gunn continues as the latter unintentionally keeps delivering flops and failures despite perpetual attempts. Snyder fans readily compared how the acclaimed filmmaker delivered something way more epic in Justice League with a minimal budget than Muschietti did in The Flash.
Trolling James Gunn and Andy Muschietti for The Flash‘s terrible visual effects, Zack Snyder fans mention how millions of dollars were wasted instead of implementing new cutting-edge technology.
