Popularly known for portraying Black Widow in Marvel films, she has featured in multiple blockbusters and has surpassed multiple Hollywood stars to be one of the highest-grossing actors. Despite all that, the actress has faced criticism not only for her work but also for the character she portrays in her films. Her co-stars, Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner, faced a huge backlash after they s*ut-shamed her character.
And the actress and her character, Black Widow, were again shaded by the Thor actor Chris Hemsworth as the two sat down to throw insults at each other.
Chris Hemsworth Calls Scarlett Johansson Dumb
As seen on-screen, the cast of The Avengers is very close in real life, so much so that they often make fun of each other. However, things got a little heated when Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson appeared on BBC Radio 1’s Playground Insults while promoting Avengers: Endgame.
The Lucy star started the insults by calling her co-star “ugly,” only to get the worst possible response from the Australian actor. “They say beauty is on the inside, and inside you is just awful,” Hemsworth said. Johannson added to the insults as she pointed out that the Extraction star’s fashion is “crazy.”
The 39-year-old actor left Johannson in disbelief with his next comment, saying, “It’s lucky you’re beautiful because there’s nothing up there.” Surprised by this, she asked him if he called her “dumb.” The actors went on to point out who takes the most time getting ready and who is usually late on the set.
Emphasizing that the Ghost in the Shell star is usually late, Hemsworth even offered to gift her a watch. The 38-year-old actress seemed seriously offended by this and said that things have now gone “beyond insults,” as she stated that they don’t like each other anymore.
Chris Hemsworth Humiliates Black Widow
The Marvel stars also went on to insult their respective characters in the MCU. Chris Hemsworth started by questioning Black Widow’s superpowers. He pointed out that Johansson’s MCU character does not have a superpower other than “owning a couple of teasers” or “tridents from the Ninja Turtles.”
Scarlett Johansson insulted and made fun of the Thor actor’s biceps. “Your biceps look like Thanksgiving Turkeys,” she said. The Spiderhead actor also mentioned how no one knows how to spell her name. The Avengers co-stars kept on making sarcastic comments about each other, as Johansson said that she loves Hemsworth’s biceps, and he called her smart.
