While Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse continues to sweep people off their feet, the Spidey from Earth-199999, Tom Holland updated the world on the final installment of the Sony Spider-Man movies starring the actor. Even though it’s common knowledge that Spider-Man 4 is in production, Holland previously suggested he wasn’t sure if he’d be back. Following the massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the actor wasn’t sure if it was possible to top what they did back in 2021. Thus, he threw the production house and Marvel studios an open challenge, and if they succeeded the star promised to reprise his role most probably for the final time.
Cut to a few months after his statement, Holland revealed things are “looking pretty good”, and the fans could not be happier. This statement led many to think that the team found a way to top the last movie, and thus excited to see what they have in store for them.
Tom Holland confirms Spider-Man 4 will outdo No Way Home
In the latest interview with Inverse, while promoting his latest Apple TV+ show The Crowded Room, Tom Holland followed up on the statement he previously made about the Marvel Franchise. After throwing a challenging condition towards Sony and Marvel, the actor stated, the new script did not disappoint him. It was known that he was in and out of meetings discussing his future with the studio until now, and it has now been confirmed that the actor is indeed returning for the fourth installment. In addition to confirming his return, he also managed to hype the fans and amp up their expectations all by stating a single statement,
“Whether or not it’ll come to fruition, who knows?–But right now it’s looking pretty good, and we’ll just have to wait and see.”
After this statement, the fans most certainly cannot wait any longer. Both he and the fans are “excited” about the news. The producer Amy Pascal further doubled down on the claim stating,
“Are we going to make another movie? Of course we are,–We’re in the process, but the writers strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”
The movie is momentarily on halt due to the writer’s strike but is expected to start taking shape after the ongoing strike.
Tom Holland wants to share the screen with Miles Morales
Now that the world has witnessed almost every kind of Spider-Person there ever is, people are aware the madness of the multiverse knows no extent. Thus in the same interview, Holland hyped the fourth Spider-Man movie, he also revealed he would love to bring Miles Morales into the live-action world. He said,
“I would be honored to bring Miles Morales into the live action world. How we do that, I don’t know, but given the opportunity, I would jump at it.”
This led many to take a great leap of faith and speculate if they would bring out Miles Morales for the probable final movie to the saga. Taking that into account, the MCU version of Miles’ uncle Aaron Davis portrayed by Donald Glover made an appearance in Holland’s movie Homecoming, implying that an adolescent Miles may exist in that same universe.
Although it is a bit far-fetched, some are taking their chances. All in all, people can not wait to see how the upcoming sequel is going to top what happened in 2021. Spider-Man: No Way Home, is currently available on Starz to stream, whereas, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now available in theatres worldwide for people to enjoy.
