“It’s genuinely dangerous stuff”: Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible Co-Star Simon Pegg Feels $600M Actor’s Death Wish Might Finally Come True in Heartbreaking Video

Although performing death-defying stunts on a regular basis might no longer frighten Tom Cruise out of his wits, the same can’t be said for his costars. Witnessing one of the biggest movie stars pulling off dangerous stunts is not easy for his fellow crewmates, and the fear of something going awry always clouds their minds.

Simon Pegg fears something might go wrong during one of Tom Cruise’s stunts

Following the red carpet event for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 in Rome, Simon Pegg reflected on Tom Cruise‘s determination in pulling off death-defying stunts by himself. The Mission: Impossible franchise has witnessed the Top Gun star pulling off enormous stunts and this new entry is no different, as it witnesses a motorcycle parachute jump off a cliff. However for his costars, witnessing the actor escaping traumatic incidents by inches isn’t delightful, as Pegg explained he fears something might go wrong someday. He explained,

“Tom is jumping off cliffs on a motorbike he’s hanging his you know, hanging off trains — it’s genuinely dangerous stuff. There’s always a sense that, you know, one day, something might go wrong we might lose Tom, you know. Anytime there’s a big stunt, we all have that sense of, you know, fear, but he always pulls it off.”

But it doesn’t seem the Top Gun: Maverick star is shifting away from his roots anytime soon, as after this installment, he will be soon gearing up for the second part of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.

Tom Cruise’s unbridled determination toward his craft has been an inspiration for many biggies in Hollywood, including Michael B. Jordan. During his time on 2021’s Without Remorse, Michael B. Jordan was motivated by Cruise’s commitment to pulling off his own stunts, as the Black Panther star went on to follow in the actor’s footsteps. Jordan explained,

“I mean, he is the guy. In the sense of the type of hard work and dedication that he puts into his craft and his stunts, was definitely motivated me and inspired me to want to do them myself as well.”
