In the process of building a legacy in the Hollywood industry, it’s often noticed that stars choose which particular projects they want to be a part of so they can make the most of it. Henry Cavill is one such example of carefully selecting which roles he must take in order to feel satisfied with his efforts for himself as well as the fans, which led him down the path of becoming one of the most beloved stars in the business.
And while it may be a sad state of affairs to see the star leave two franchises that proved to be a springboard for his career, the star is accepting it and trying to move on. But in the past, Cavill would love nothing more but to talk about the things he loved while being on the set of The Witcher as Geralt of Rivia. Here, he also expressed just how deeply he loved being part of the second season of the show.

While most actors do their due work before depicting any adapted character from literature, Henry Cavill is one of those few stars who actually geek out on most of the things and subjects related to pop and geek culture. Thus, when he got the chance to play the role of Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s literary works, he was more than thrilled to jump on that ship and sail its glory.

And without fail, The Witcher went on to become one of the most successful series for the streaming giant, amassing millions in viewership and critical acclaim. And thus, with the second season of the series, they had to go beyond what they did previously. During an episode of Netflix’s The Witcher: Unlocked, the stars of the show talked about everything that was related to the show and beyond. Cavill, being an avid reader of the book series was asked about his opinion on how well the show managed to adapt the source from the original story. Here, Cavill let his inner geek out.
The Man of Steel star went on to praise the adaptation to no end, talking about just how well the studio had done. He said:
“From the books, I really loved that story. It was a stroy of perspectives and forced scenarios, and sense of guilt and redemption. And it’s obviously a subverted version of Beauty and The Beast, but done in such a masterful way in the books. There’s so much nuance, so much complexity, and the answeres are quite what you think they’re going to be. Your hero doesn’t necessarily make the choices that you’ll make, but they are still potentially ethical and moral choices.”
Thus with so much passion and love behind the source and even the show, it was hard to see Cavill leave the role of Geralt of Rivia.
