God of War Ragnarök has some intriguing intense moments, it was heavy for even the Kratos voice actor of the game, Christopher Judge. In a scene, Kratos was chained and Freya (Danielle Bisutti) made him realize a lot about his life when the actor got emotional talking about it later. “It takes some decompression,” Judge said.

“The scene when I go back and get the blades of chaos. It was probably not real early on but early on in the filming and that’s kind of what I was like do I want to go there because this this was mowin”

“If I was gonna take the scab off it as a person as a human being this is where it,” he added. When he was called a monster that incapable of change in the game, Kratos said, “I know.” And that’s where Judge got pretty emotional.

“A lot of this performance for me is a love letter to my kids, it’s an it’s an apology. Yeah, and that’s all I say,” Judge added.

Clearly, the scene was intense as it reminded him of his kids when he was away from them being engaged in shooting. A heartfelt apology, indeed.

Sunny Suljic played Atreus in the 2018 release of God of War and later in God of War: Ragnarok. Atreus is the son of Christopher Judge’s Kratos. Recalling the chemistry between the characters, Judge said that they kind of hit it off immediately.

“I get to the chemistry test and this little runt of a kid is there but he was so engaging and so intelligent and we just hit it off immediately,” Judge said.

“We had just met like our relationship was there from the very first words,” Judge added further saying that his co-star even teased him on set.

“Sunny still says ‘hey, I should be getting 10%, I’m responsible for your career, I’m the one who said I had the best chemistry with you!'”

It seems the chemistry turned out to be great as the game received several accolades while Judge has been awarded for his performance at multiple award shows including the 2022 The Game Award and British Academy Games Award in 2023.
