Ubisoft is always seeking fresh ideas to expand its Assassin’s Creed universe, through novel video game releases, cinematic adaptations, literary works, graphic novels, and more.
And to expand it even further, Ubisoft recently confirmed it intends to go all-in on Assassin’s Creed over the next few years. There is a new video game in the making, the open-world mobile game Assassin’s Creed Jade, which showcases stealth, parkour, and action.
The first gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed Jade is set in ancient China and it is getting positive as well as negative comments by fans.
Take a look at the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Jade below.
Assassin’s Creed Jade
Assassin’s Creed Jade is notable for two reasons: The first is that it’s the first fully open-world RPG in the series to take players to Ancient China. The second is that it’s a mobile game.
In the past ten years, Ubisoft has taken its popular Assassin’s Creed game franchise to many historical surroundings like Classical Athens, ancient Egypt, colonial Boston, Victorian London, and revolutionary Paris. This time game is set in Ancient China.
As for positives, while this won’t be the first game in the series to arrive on mobile devices, Assassin’s Creed Jade looks to be the best one yet. It’s looking a little too good to be a mobile game, at least judging by its most recent Gamescom trailer.
Many people said that the map looks and feels like a great place to explore and the free roaming is decent. Combat is fluid and fun with an interesting ‘loadout’ swap mechanic that adds to the depth.
The Negatives of The Upcoming Game
As for negative comments, many people said that it was unbelievable when they heard Assassin’s Creed Jade was to be a mobile game. Not because mobile games are somehow worth less – they aren’t – but because they use touchscreen controls to simulate the console Assassin’s Creed experience.
People are disappointed and shared their experience in the comment section below the gameplay trailer of Assassin’s Creed Jade.
As someone who prefers the console Assassin’s Creed experience, small screen size and touchscreen controls are somehow apathetic for them.
