When Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator showed a self-aware AI taking over the whole world, nobody thought that one day AI would ensure such chaos even in the real world. But looks like the situation has started in a way as AI has already started to capture several jobs. According to some statements by the Governator’s Terminator: Dark Fate stunt coordinator, a lot of stuntmen are on their way to losing jobs due to Artificial Intelligence.
Freddy Bouciegues is a stunt coordinator in Hollywood known for his contribution to movies like Free Guy, Terminator: Dark Fate, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. As per his recent statements, the studios have suspiciously started taking body scans which is suspected to rip a lot of extras of their jobs.
The AI is expected to take over every corner of Hollywood
Soon after an interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s Terminator 6 stunt coordinator came to light, it can’t be denied that the fear of AI takeover is very real. While the long ongoing strikes by WGA and SAG-AFTRA are evidence of the grimness of the situation, Freddy Bouciegues’ words show that the situation’s only getting worse every day.
According to Bouciegues, the proneness of technology and cheap AI techniques to reduce human labor is at its all-time high. Stuntmen have been an important aspect of Hollywood for years. But looks like the studios won’t think twice to go for the easy way and look forward to reducing human labor as much as they can.
“The technology is exponentially getting faster and better. It´s really a scary time right now. There could be a world where they said, ‘No, we don´t want to bring these 10 guys in… we´ll just add them in later via effects and AI.’ Now those guys are out of the job.”
Freddy Bouciegues also revealed that many studios have already taken 3D body scans of several stunt artists without even taking their consent. The body scan has been a major point in this war as many people came forward against the studios’ policy of using the scans of the artists in their projects for eternity without proper pay.
But Arnold Schwarzenegger’s associate also added how it will also affect the projects due to the absence of the human factor that’s necessary for the set pieces to look more organic than the digital replicas.
Arnold Schwarzenegger also fears an AI takeover
Freddy Bouciegues stated how a large segment of the stunt coordinators and artists are intensely afraid of losing everything to the machines. Many people have openly claimed that AI will potentially change the entire Hollywood forever. The future looks so bleak if this situation persists that it even scared our 7-times Mr. Olympia winner.
When Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke at a press meet in Los Angeles, he praised the brilliance of James Cameron who successfully foresighted the horrors of the future.
“Today, everyone is frightened of it, of where this is gonna go. And in this movie, in ‘Terminator,’ we talk about the machines becoming self-aware and they take over… Now over the course of decades, it has become a reality. So it’s not any more fantasy or kind of futuristic. It is here today. And so this is the extraordinary writing of Jim Cameron.”
Undoubtedly, the situation’s more serious and horrifying even more than we realize as a massive faction of jobs is at stake right now.

Freddy Bouciegues recommended that the only perfect solution is to blend the use of both technology and manpower in a proportionate matter. The stunt coordinator worked with Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2019’s Terminator: Dark Fate. Despite being considered an improvement from most of its predecessors, the movie turned out to be a major box-office disaster.
Terminator: Dark Fate can be rented on Apple TV+.
