You should never meet your idols, they say. They might disappoint you, they say. Well, Evangeline Lilly ended up turning the tables on that one. Before Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer could fulfill their fated roles as the ones to disappoint, Lilly met them midway by being the one to embarrass.
The trio has most recently come off of the success of their third Marvel film together aka Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. It was during the filming of the threequel that the aforementioned turn of events ended up putting the three actors in a comically uncomfortable spot, as revealed by Wasp actor, Lilly.

Evangeline Lilly Checks Michael Douglas Off the List
With so much sensationalism going around with the MCU, eyes are peeled and locked in on every single partisan who happens to be even remotely attached to Marvel Studios. As such, producers, directors, actors, VPs, and every other exec from the Burbank lot have been busy keeping the prying eyes away from the epicenter and satiating the mass curiosity by whatever means necessary. It now seems like the Ant-Man star, Evangeline Lilly, has been inadvertently helping the studio do just that with her most recent salacious revelation.
“There was this day on set, we were doing a scene in a restaurant and we were in a waiting room, so they filmed the waiting room with extras and there were children. I turned to Michael [Douglas] and Michelle [Pfeiffer] and I said, ‘You know, you guys are real GILFs.’ Michael had no idea. He said, ‘What’s a GILF?’ Instead of being cool about it, in front of a room full of children I went, ‘It’s a grandpa I’d like to f**k.’ And then immediately realized I’d told Michael Douglas I’d like to f**k him, which is not what you should say in front of a bunch of kids, oops!”
The 43-year-old didn’t reveal how the situation unfolded immediately after her verbal mishap but by the sound of it, the intergenerational joke may have been laughed off by the trio.
Comically enough, as once revealed by Douglas himself, this isn’t the first time he has been publicly (and confidently) labeled as a ‘grandpa’. The Kominsky Method actor claimed on The Kelly Clarkson Show that he was mistaken for his youngest daughter’s grandfather at her graduation in 2021 and has been trying ever since not to take it personally.
The Underwhelming Reception of Quantumania
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania – the definitive kickstarter to MCU’s long-awaited Phase Five has been more than a little lackluster in its reception. To the audience, the cumulative deception of Phase Four, the threadbare patience to find the thrilling high of Phase Three, and the latest projects – Wakanda Forever and GotG: Holiday Special – both of which ended on a high note, have then added to the disappointment left behind by Ant-Man 3.

Further adding to the tragic execution of the Peyton Reed film were Corey Stoll’s childlike and petulant rendition of MODOK and Kang being taken down by a technocratically evolved army of ants (ANTS!) led by our resident GILF Michael Douglas aka Hank Pym aka the original Ant-Man. If the Hulked-out Ant-Man going after Kang because “we had a deal” hadn’t managed to do it, then his elder namesake’s army of ants definitely drove the final nail into the coffin. The film now sits at a horrific 48% RT score.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is now playing in theatres.
