Moreover, critics have praised the character, as the series has focused more on its villain, than on the heroes, which has made it an exciting sequel to watch. The captivating villain had a great choice when it comes to cars, as well as an intriguing choice for his car’s color. Recently, the Aquaman actor shared the real reason why he chose to make his car Lavender colored in the film.

Jason Momoa’s Hilarious Reason To Have A Lavender-Colored Impala

During an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Jason Momoa was asked out of all the colors in the world, why did he choose to make his Impala lavender colored, and if it said something about his character. The Dune actor shared that the crew was not letting him have a lavender-colored Impala, but he convinced them to have it as she “despises” it, and it would make his mother angry.

“They weren’t that keen on letting me have a lavender car. I think Neil was like, “No, we’re not doing lavender.” I’m like, “Dude, we need to do it. I want it lavender.” And they budged. The whole thing behind lavender is that my mother absolutely despises that color and I adore that color.”

He added that this whole “purple and pink” stunt was to get under his mother’s skin, and it would make her cringe, which would give him lots of joy.

“I use it to just kind of get under my mother’s skin, and it just makes us laugh. So I call it Yaya Lavender and then just having all my nails done that way. So I’m excited for her to see me in full pinks and purples, and it will just make her cringe. So that gives me a lot of joy.”

While Jason Momoa wanted to make his mother laugh with a hilarious prank, he wanted to take a different approach than the villains featured in the earlier installments of the franchise. And during the interview, he shares how he consulted the costume designer for his character in the tenth installment of the series.

Jason Momoa Wanted to Add Something Different To Fast X

During the same interview with Screen Rant, Jason Momoa shared how the wardrobe choice of Dante Reyes was different from the villains featured in the earlier movies, who used to wear an all-black outfit. However, he had a lot of ideas for his character’s outfit, and he discussed it with a costume designer, to make outfits that were heavily inspired from pastel colors.

“Yeah, I really weigh heavily on wardrobe and props. It’s my lack of acting skills where I really need their help. I really built a lot of this wardrobe with obviously a costume designer, but just had a lot of ideas, what I wanted. I feel like Flip, Trish had that all pretty much dialed, but I didn’t want it to come in with a lot of colors. I really was inspired by pastel colors.”

The Slumberland actor continued, that he wanted to radiate a warm and inviting aura around him, but when his prey would be too close to him, he would become the devil and hunt his prey.

“I wanted something that was warm and inviting and then when you got close to him, you were just like, “That’s the devil and the devil tricked me.” So that was kind of the whole idea.”

A still from Fast X

Well, it is safe to say that fans and critics love this creative approach to his wardrobe, as he can be hilarious to look at but he effortlessly makes the lives of Dominic Torreto and his family a living hell. And his approach was so unique that none of the viewers could anticipate his next move, which makes him stand out from all the previous villains of the Fast and Furious franchise.
