After the release of the final season, the popular anime series Attack on Titan is finally on the brink of an end. The series has gained a lot of respect and love from fans and other writers. With a rating of 9.1 on IMDb, the show has not only had an influence on pop culture but also has gained a spot on the list of best anime shows in the world. The creator of Attack on Titan manga, Hajime Isayama has received a lot of love from the entire world. Although his Anime Series has got great appreciation from the fans, he is in love with another legendary series that has been the talk of the town for quite some time.
Hajime Isayama’s Love For Game Of Thrones
During an interview with Crunchyroll, creator Isayama talked about his love for Game of Thrones and how he enjoyed the first season the most. He explained how he and his wife enjoyed the series. Isayama’s love for history is keenly reflected in his love for Game of Thrones and also he developed his manga around such historical events. He said:
“I watched all of the first season and really enjoyed it. Even compared to the first season of the original Game of Thrones, it was well done. I like Aemond Targaryan. I think that character’s face looks really good, as an actor. I was watching it with my wife and she’s not really about the gore scenes, so she was looking away. And so she asked ‘Oh, what happened? [I said] ‘Oh, you didn’t watch it? Here, let me rewind it for you!’. She got really mad at me.”
While talking about the story development and the final season of Attack on Titan Isayama also explained the importance and impact of the historical events of Attack on Titan. He explained how the design of the world in history helped him develop the layout of the manga. He said:
“I think where there’s a hint of truth, it makes a story very believable. So when I came up with the design of the world view—for example, the world view map, I kind of flipped it from the real-life world map to something similar, but different. People would be able to understand the context without explaining everything. For example, the Eldian and Marleyans. They’re really kind of similar to what the Germanic people and Romans went through 2,000 years ago. That’s kind of the unsaid rules that I keep in my stories.”
Although Attack on Titan‘s plot has made a lot of impact on the increasing fanbase of the series, creator Isayama feels that if he had a way to change this, he could have made it perfect.
Attack on Titan Final Season
During an interview in New York, Creator Isayama talked about the anxiety and pressure he felt after the final season was released. He said:
“I still have doubts within myself. Did I land it? I’m not even so sure. I still struggle on this point and I’m very sorry about that.”
He was happy about his trip to America and thanked the fans for embracing the show and giving it the respect it deserved. He was overwhelmed with the excitement and encouragement he received for the series and explained how many of the themes in Attack on Titan were deeply inspired by American media and culture.
There is still a portion of episodes left after one of the longest Final Seasons in anime history, spanning 29 episodes and three calendar years. The Attack on Titan Final Chapters Special 2 will be released in the autumn of 2023. The first 16 episodes of Attack on Titan Final Season/Season Four adapted the manga’s 91st chapter to chapter 116. Part 2 of the Final Season spanned 12 episodes and covered chapters 117-130. Chapters 131-134 were adapted for Final Chapters Special 1. The latest 30-second trailer for The Final Chapters Special 2 focuses on Mikasa and Armin’s quest to bring Eren’s reign of terror to an end.
