Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was released just earlier this year and all the fan and critics reviews that have been coming in are mostly positive, marking a bright future for the kingdom of Wakanda. The sequel to Black Panther stars the talented Letitia Wright once again but as the main protagonist of the movie this time around.

One major missing from the arrival of the sequel to Ryan Coogler’s 2018 movie is the late actor Chadwick Boseman, whom Marvel fans and his family lost in 2020. But his legacy has lived on in the sequel, with even the cast paying tributes to the T’Challa actor at the premiere of the movie. Letitia Wright, however, has some special words for her former co-star.

Chadwick Boseman Considered Letitia Wright As His Sister

Hollywood’s most famous and best friendships have emerged from actors who happened to star in the same movies, the meeting of Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds at the set of XMen Origins: Wolverine being the most shining example.

Much like Reynolds and Jackman, Letitia Wright and Chadwick Boseman became the best of friends after starring together in Ryan Coogler’s masterpiece, Black Panther back in 2018. Some fans even argued that both actors had a relationship similar to that of their onscreen counterparts, as brother and sister (and even made compilations about it!).

However, the T’Challa actor wasn’t unable to join the rest of the cast, let alone Wright, in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, having passed away in 2020 at the age of 43. But it has been confirmed by Wright herself that he did indeed consider her as his real-life sister, despite not having one.

While speaking to The Guardian in an interview, the 29-year-old actor confirmed that the onscreen relationship that she had with Boseman translated into a similar relationship in real-life when the cameras weren’t rolling-

“Yes! He doesn’t have sisters, but he would always say if he were to have one it would have to be me because I just connected with him and it was the way God wanted it to be.”

It was quite a ride with Chadwick Boseman as the MCU’s Black Panther, and his legacy is still cherished by fans even today.

Letitia Wright Was Angered By Chadwick Boseman’s Unexpected Passing

Just two years after the release of Black Panther, everyone was still pretty optimistic that Chadwick Boseman could be one of the biggest game-changing actors in the MCU, much like Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man.

Then the 28th day of August came about in 2020, and the whole MCU fanbase was taken aback after it was announced that the 42 star had passed away after a 4-year-long battle with colon cancer.

One of the angriest, sad, and most confused persons upon hearing the news of his death was Letitia Wright, who found out about the news of his co-star and brother-like friend’s unexpected death through a condolence message.

In the very same interview with The Guardian, the Aisha star explains how she felt upon hearing the unfortunate news-

“I was at home in my apartment in east London. I was by myself. I just woke up and saw an email saying my condolences, and I was like, ‘My condolences for what?’ Then I clicked out of that email and kept just seeing Chadwick Boseman, Chadwick Boseman, Chadwick Boseman. I was like, ‘What the hell’s going on?’ I clicked on one, and it was the PR team saying, ‘Do you want to write a statement?’ Statement? What’s going on?”

“I was punching my apartment up, I was screaming. I was just so angered. I was like, ‘Bro, Daniel, this is not happening’, but his silence spoke so loudly. And he just came immediately from where he was to comfort me.”

Two years later, Letitia Wright would be giving her tribute to the late actor at the premiere of Wakanda Forever in the most memorable way possible- by wearing the very same black Alexander McQueen suit that Boseman wore to the 2018 premiere of Black Panther. It was a fitting tribute to a co-star who considered her as his real-life sister.
