The actor also voiced moral reservations about endorsing businesses responsible for animal cruelty and environmental destruction. His ex-wife Miley Cyrus went vegan with him, and they made their commitment public on various social media sites.

A sudden health problem associated with Liam Hemsworth’s plant-based diet unexpectedly changed his journey. The actor disclosed that he had been experiencing fatigue before last year’s kidney stone diagnosis.

The actor eventually sought help for his excruciating pain and had surgery. Unexpectedly, he traced the origin of his kidney stone back to the high oxalate content in his diet, primarily found in vegetables like spinach, almonds, beetroot, and potatoes.

The actor talks about how he went from being a vegan to finding out he “got a kidney stone” and then was admitted to the hospital. Liam Hemsworth’s painful experience with a kidney stone prompted him to reconsider his diet.

“I was vegan for almost four years, and then February of last year I was feeling lethargic. Then I got a kidney stone. It was one of the most painful weeks of my life. I was doing press for Isn’t It Romantic. But I had to go to the hospital and get surgery.”

Because of his painful experience, the Last Song actor advises his fans “to figure out what works best for your body.”

“Look, you can read whatever you want to read. But you have to experience it for yourself. You have to figure out what works best for your body.” And if something works well for a period, great, keep doing it. If something changes and you’re not feeling great, you’ve got to reassess it and then figure it out.

The first few years of Hemsworth’s vegan journey were fruitful, but he eventually realized he needed to adjust his diet to ensure he was getting everything. Hemsworth argued that people should make dietary decisions with an open mind and emphasize individual experience.

While Hemsworth did not come right out and say he was no longer a vegan, he did admit that he needed to reevaluate his diet. The Hollywood celeb may have gone for a more well-rounded approach incorporating a wide range of nutrients or altered the composition of certain plant-based foods.
