"It sounds stupid": Harry Potter Star Was Not Too Thrilled With Decision Over Emma Watson's Future in the Franchise

Emma Watson became famous for her iconic portrayal of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise. The actress became too well known like her fellow co-stars Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe during the early 2000s and 2010s.

Breaking their characters, Ruper Grint, who portrayed the role of Ron Weasley never expected his character to kiss Hermione Granger. The actor was not too excited when he came to know that he would have to kiss his fellow co-star.

Rupert Grint Was Not Prepared For His Kiss With Emma Watson

In the eighth and final part of the Harry Potter franchise, Rupert Grint had to kiss Emma Watson since Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger were, after all…in love. The actors had anticipated the kiss but Rupert Grint was not prepared to face the acting.

In an interview with Collider, Grint admitted that he indeed saw signs and hints that his on-screen character and Granger did actually like each other. Choosing innocence as his answer, Grint stated that he never expected the characters to get quite as couple as they do in the movies and hence…was not prepared for his fate.

“It sounds stupid, but I never really saw it coming. It has always been hinted, but I never thought to the extent where at the end, we’re quite couple-y.”

He further continued

“I kind of built up this thing in my head,” Grint explained. “We were both kind of dreading it really, just because we’ve known each other since we were really small. It’s like kissing your sister.”

It wasn’t all fun and games shooting the movies since the bond that Rupert Grint shared with Emma Watson was something that was ruined by these romantic actions. On the other hand, however, Emma Watson had less trouble kissing Daniel Radcliffe.

In another interview, the actress revealed that during the peak of her fame, she had quite a traumatizing experience in walking down the red carpet. Talking about her fame and her interviews, the actress stated that she would not recognize herself when she would look in the mirror of a bathroom!

“I’d walk down the red carpet and go into the bathroom. I had on so much makeup and these big, fluffy, full-on dresses. I’d put my hands on my hands on the sink and look at myself in the mirror and say, ‘Who is this?’. I didn’t connect to the person who was looking back at me, and that was a very unsettling feeling.”

She also revealed that as she got older, “It dawned on me that this is what you’re signing up for.” The actress was last spotted (in a major role) in the 2019 movie Little Women and has currently no upcoming projects announced.
