Canadian actor Simu Liu made his Marvel debut in the film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Liu’s role as Shang Chi became his breakthrough role, and the actor is looking forward to working with the franchise, but he has a specific preference for a co-star with whom he would like to work.
The MCU franchise consists of many legendary stars like Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., and many more. But surprisingly, none of them is Liu’s first choice to collaborate with.
Simu Liu wants to team up with which Marvel superhero?
The MCU has given us many great superheroes throughout the existence of the franchise. Picking the best superhero sometimes becomes very difficult. However, if Simu Liu gets a chance to pick a superhero with whom he would like to collaborate, he has a fixed image in his mind. Recently, during an interview with Men’s Health, the Barbie actor revealed the name of the actor he wants to work with.
He said that he would be thrilled to team up with Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani, as their encounters have always left him impressed. The actor said, “I’ll single out Iman Vellani.” One of the reasons he would like to work with her is because both actors hail from the same country, Canada. Not just that, but Liu greatly admires Vellani as a person. The actor said,
“The few times I’ve met her, and all the conversations we’ve had, she’s just such a wonderful human being.”
The reason why Liu chose Vellani over any other Marvel actor is because of her genuine love for the comic universe. The actor said,
“She really just stuck out to me as someone who just absolutely loves it, and loves the world, loves the position that she’s been put in.”
The craze for the franchise is something similar between the two actors and is the reason why Liu is excited to work with Vellani.
Simu Liu looks forward to collaborating with Iman Vellani
Since Simu Liu and Iman Vellani belong to the same franchise, there is a high chance that they might collaborate soon. Both Shang-Chi and Ms. Marvel are the superheroes who are meant to team up in Avengers: Secret Wars. However, there are several years until the movie’s release. Especially looking at the current situation in Hollywood, the two strikes, WAG and SAG-AFTRA, have highly affected many projects.
