After taking a long break from the realms of acting to focus more on her family life and being a mom, Cameron Diaz finally marked her return and is set to appear in the upcoming movie Back in Action. Although it appeared that the Bad Teacher star is set to begin her next chapter in the industry, the actress is reportedly reconsidering her decision to return to Hollywood after the recent drama surrounding the Netflix movie.
Even though she was initially excited to mark her return to Hollywood through the upcoming Netflix movie, her decision to work in Back in Action hasn’t turned out great.
Cameron Diaz allegedly retiring from acting again after Back in Action
It seems that Cameron Diaz’s return to acting after an 8-year hiatus will be short-lived, following the drama surrounding her upcoming movie, Back in Action. According to reports, Jamie Foxx reportedly suffered a severe meltdown during the production of the movie, which led to the firing of three people. The report also added that along with the drama surrounding the lead actor, the return of Diaz into the realm of acting hasn’t been easy and she has been exhausted by the long working hours.
The report stated,
“These back-to-back 10-hour workdays have been a lot on her and she hated being away from [her child] Raddix. Cameron loves being a mom more than anything in the world.”
Considering that Jamie Fox was the reason behind Diaz’s decision to return to acting, it seems that the actress is allegedly going back to retirement after the completion of Back in Action’s production.
Cameron Diaz was initially excited to work in Back in Action
Despite the unfortunate circumstances that have allegedly led to the actress reconsidering her return to Hollywood, Cameron Diaz was initially excited about working in Back to Action. While speaking with Jimmy Fallon, the actress expressed that after she was offered the role in the upcoming Netflix movie, she was adamant about doing it, as she could connect with the story and the character. She said,
“I know. Literally. I was like, ‘Hey, guys, so what is the title of this?’ And they’re like, ‘Back in Action.’ I was like, ‘Oh!’ I’m really feeling very connected to this character already. I’m both (nervous and excited). You know, it’s a little bit of muscle memory, you know what I mean? Sort like, I did that for so long, it’s kind of like the process, I kind of just fell back into it.”
Considering the situation surrounding the production of the movie, the upcoming Netflix movie might be the last time we witness Cameron Diaz in action.
