Tom Hiddleston On His First Meet With Chris Hemsworth

The Night Manager star shared his first encounter with Hemsworth and remembered being dressed in Kenneth Branagh’s wardrobe. The Loki star shared that he was assured after seeing Hemsworth that the right person was cast for the role.

“It was in 2009, we just got cast, and it was the first time I met Chris. We were at Kenneth Branagh’s house in England. And all I see when I look at that photo is inaccessible youth. It was interesting ‘coz we just met. Chris was Thor and I was Loki and [director] Kenneth Branagh had an idea. I think he went into an old wardrobe. He pulled out these colors because Thor’s cape was red and Loki’s cape was green. I think those costumes were from his movies of Henry V and Hamlet. My abiding memory of that day was Chris Hemsworth walking to the door and my first thought was, ‘Oh they cast the right actor’.”

Tom Hiddleston On His Off-Screen Brotherly Relationship With Chris Hemsworth

The Coriolanus star shared in an interview that after playing the brother of the Extraction star in Thor (2011), he felt that bond was carried forth even in real life. Both the stars’ lives took a great turn after being part of the blockbuster MCU. In this massive transition, Tom Hiddleston felt that his friendship with Chris Hemsworth became much stronger and more reliable as they both were in this together.

“My first film with Chris Hemsworth with whom I made a fast and firm friendship because we were playing brothers in this enormous thing and it felt like we were brothers by the end in some way. He was the only other person who understood what the experience had been like he was the only other person who I came back and friends of mine were like how was it and I was, it’s always hard to explain and there’s one person who knows and it was Chris and we have always shared that really because it’s kind of a life-changing moment for both of us.”
