The 2010 movie was about a ballerina who becomes the White Swan but is challenged by a fellow performer. With Portman in the lead role, the actress found worldwide fame unparalleled as she received an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role.

Several actors have spoken out about the usage of method acting. Natalie Portman wanted to avoid the process at all costs but her role was so demanding that he indirectly resorted to the method. Talking about it in an interview, the actress revealed the strict and tough regime that she had to follow which made her lose about 20 pounds during the process.

“I was barely eating, I was working 16 hours a day. I was almost method acting without intending to. I do wonder now how people can do this kind of role when they have a family,”

She further continued,

“It was more difficult than anything I’ve ever experienced before. I like to go home and be myself, but with this one I didn’t get the chance. It didn’t leave me.”

Well, the film was indeed a success as Natalie Portman was paid for all her hard work dearly. There was another incident on the sets of Black Swan that strained the relationship between her and her father.

When Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman filmed the s-x scene, the behind-the-scene was quite hilarious as they both knew each other. After the s*x act was done, the duo was normal and comfortable with each other but sources close to Portman revealed that her father was not okay with the scene.

“I feel like it would be easier to do it with someone you didn’t know, but it was great to have a friend there who we could laugh and make jokes with and get over it together.”

The source added their statement that Portman’s father had several problems with the actress appearing in the role.

“Natalie is a very private and dignified person and is often influenced by her father’s approval. This, however, was one role she simply didn’t want to turn down even though she knew it could upset her father.”

Black Swan received a high rating of 8/10 on IMDB and 85% on Rotten Tomatoes and Natalie Portman made her name in Hollywood. The movie is currently available to rent on Apple TV+.
