As reports buzz around Chris Evans and Alba Baptista’s marriage, Evan’s brother Scott Evans came out as a shield of Captain America defending the couple from the harshest troll from fans on the internet.
The Captain America star Evans. 42, has reportedly tied the knot with Baptista, 26, best known for her role in Warrior Nun, in a small ceremony at their home in Boston, Massachusetts. In November 2022, sources told people of the relationship between the couple confirming that the duo had dated over a year before it came out in public.
Chris Evans and Alba Baptista Tied the Knot
After reportedly dating since 2021, and the official confirmation on several posts on Chris Evans’ official Instagram, the Gifted actor has finally shared eternal vows with Alba Baptista. Multiple outlets reported that the ceremony was intimate and private to avoid extensive media attention. Only family and close friends of the actors were present at their wedding, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner, as reported by Page Six.
The duo has kept their relationship private for quite a while, perhaps to avoid internet toxicity. Of course, many fans have applauded and celebrated the couple. Earlier, Evans slightly hinted at his desired future. Speaking to E! News, the actor revealed that he wants to be a father. “I would love to have kids. But having a dog is certainly a good litmus test of how you handle responsibility,” Evans revealed.
As far as the couple’s secrecy goes, the duo never announced their engagement or any update on their marriage until reports of their marriage broke.
Scott Evans Defended Chris Evans and Alba Baptista
The dating updates between the actors have sparked the interest of hot internet gossip but there are some fans who have pushed it to the attacking mode launched at Captain America: The First Avenger actor. That’s when Evan’s brother Scott Evans came to resume for the couple. In an episode of The Viall Files earlier this summer, Scott Evans fired back at fans who have spread hatred towards the couple. The fans are “being like ‘You are a piece of crap’ to anybody he’s tried to date, and just destroying them and telling them they suck,” Scott Evans accused of the haters of his brother.
“It’s been, like, a slow burn over the years. It’s not like he catapults to fame. We’ve been experiencing, and we watched the internet happen. Twitter wasn’t around when he first started making movies, and so just being able to just see it all…kind of what can happen. It can be a dark place and people can get very bold with the things that they think are appropriate.”
Several fans have taken a jibe at the couple due to their age difference, a commonly seen internet debacle. “The way people can be can make it pretty hard to date someone like that,” Evan’s brother continued. “Because you think, ‘I’m just dating a person, he’s a guy,’ and then all of a sudden, it’s article after article after article after post after tag after tag,” he added. The photographs of the couple at the ceremony are yet to be revealed as the duo has restricted the guests from capturing the event, as reported by some outlets. Fans can wait for the official photographs on the couple’s social media pages.
