“It blew my a*s out”: Even After 21 Years, Hugh Grant Still Has Nightmares About His Time With Sandra Bullock in $199 Million Movie

Even After 21 Years, Hugh Grant Still Has Nightmares About His Time With Sandra Bullock in $199 Million Movie

It appears one of the biggest fear Hugh Grant comprises, involves Hot dogs, as the actor recounted some of his haunting experiences involving sausages. The 90s and 2000s witnessed hit after hit from the Notting Hill star, but while working on 2002’s Two Weeks Notice, which comprised Sandra Bullock at its forefront, things went a little south for Grant.

Although the production of the movie didn’t trouble the British star in any way, it was the Hot Dogs from Nathan’s Famous, which gave the actor an unpleasant time for a while after he munched them.

Hugh Grant’s extreme love for Hot dogs backfired

Following his time in Coney Island, New York, where he was filming Two Weeks Notice alongside Sandra Bullock, the actor was intrigued to try Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs at lunchtime. Although the Paddington star found the sausages delicious, the problem occurred after he found them too delicious to resist, resulting in him eating four Hot Dogs. However, after devouring them, the actor suffered a bad case of stomach ache, claiming the Hot Dogs “blew my a*s out”. He recalled,

“But what no one explained to me is that there’s some ingredient that has an effect on a digestive system, famously with these hot dogs. So I was, to put it delicately, very late back to the make-up trailer. And when I got there, they said, ‘Are you OK?’ and I said, ‘Well I’m not sure my Nathan’s hot dogs really agreed with me.’ And it was a Brooklyn make-up girl and she said, ‘What, did it blow your a– out?’ I said, ‘Yes, it blew my a– out, yes.'”

Even decades after the incident, it doesn’t seem that Hugh Grant’s fear of Hot Dogs has alleviated, as following his time promoting Dungeons & Dragons, his fear once again caught up to him.

While attending San Diego Comic-Con to promote Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Hugh Grant was nervous, as he believed he was old and past his prime for the new generation. However, upon his arrival, he did garner love from the crowd, but one fan, in particular, cemented his presence to him. Grant recounted coming across a fan, who’d stalk him for three days wearing a Hot Dog costume, claiming the fan’s way of showcasing love was too scary for him. He said,

“There was only one person at that convention who really loved me, and he was dressed for the whole three days as a hot dog. And he followed me wherever I went. I couldn’t shake him. Do you remember the hot dog? I was terrified. I still have nightmares about him.”

Even though eating four hot dogs gave the actor a lasting scar for sausages, it didn’t hamper his performance in Two Weeks Notice, as he still remains great friends with Bullock.
