Clint Eastwood saved Arnold Schwarzenegger’s acting career
Ace bodybuilder, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has a massive and loyal fan following. He entertained his fans as a megastar and action hero for many years. The actor received stardom at a very young age and ruled the industry for years. He went on playing a young hero even in his much older years and was continually vested in the action genre.
He shared in an interview with Reuters,
“I’m not a 30-year-old action hero anymore. I’m now 65 years old, but I’m still doing action movies. I acknowledge that it’s a different ballgame now. I’m an older guy.”
The Running Man actor shared that he learned a valuable lesson from his idol Clint Eastwood, to embrace his age. He said that he watched the Clint Eastwood film In the Line of Fire, and there was a scene where Eastwood’s character becomes out of breath after running. The scene had a lasting impression on the actor, and he decided to incorporate his learning into his performance in the 2013 action film The Last Stand. Schwarzenegger shared,
“I remember how smart it was to acknowledge that because it took the curse off. No one was trying to say, ‘Isn’t he too old for this job?’ That’s what I tried to do in this film since [Eastwood] is a big idol of mine and I always like to learn from him.”
In the movie, The Last Stand, Schwarzenegger played the role of a middle-aged guy, who was a former LAPD narcotics officer.
