Insanely Genius Way 'No Hard Feelings' Director Came Up With the Story for $45M Jennifer Lawrence Movie

Jennifer Lawrence’s comedy movie No Hard Feelings is out now. The movie was released on 23 June 2023 and it is a humorous movie with a fresh perspective as per the audience review. Lawrence plays a desperate woman who accepts to date a 19-year-old guy in exchange for money. Maddy is played by the 32-year-old actress, and Perry will be portrayed by Andrew Barth Feldman.

No Hard Feelings director explains how a Craigslist ad inspired him to make a movie

Gene Stupnitsky revealed before the release of the film No Hard Feelings, that he got the film’s plot idea from a Craigslist ad. The 45-year-old director revealed that the moment he saw the ad, he knew Jennifer Lawrence was the right person for the role. The ad was sent to him by No Hard Feelings producers Marc Provissiero and Naomi Odenkirk. While talking about the Craigslist ad, the Bad Teacher director said,

“I read it, and I thought, ‘This is wild. Who is the woman that answers this ad?’And I thought, ‘Oh, that’ll be a great role for my friend Jennifer Lawrence.’”

When the Red Sparrow actress first heard about the ad, she said that she died laughing. Lawrence explained that the whole script was created after they read the funny ad. The Mother actress said,

“Gene read the Craigslist ad to me, and I died laughing. I thought it was hilarious, but there wasn’t a script or anything. I just thought he had a funny idea. And then a couple of years later, he handed me the funniest script I’ve ever read in my life.”

The film is entertaining and contains numerous things to which young people and others will be able to connect. Lawrence’s film has done extremely well since its premiere, with a total box office collection of $26.2 million.

Jennifer Lawrence says No Hard Feelings will offend everyone in some sense

As the movie is a s*x comedy, the Joy actress said that No Hard Feelings will offend many people in some sense but the actress isn’t worried about that. While talking about the movie, Lawrence said, “Everybody in some sense will be offended by this film – you’re welcome.” The Hunger Games actress also mentioned that when she was offered the movie she had delivered her first baby so she wasn’t planning to work at that time.

Lawrence also stated that when she first saw the commercial a few years before the film’s production began, she did not expect to be cast as the lead actress. The American Hustle actress revealed that she and the No Hard Feelings team were laughing on set whenever they remembered what the film was about.
