Why did Chris Evans go off social media?

Taking brief breaks from social media has become a cult for celebrities these days. While it is essential to take a break from virtual life, the sudden disappearance of actors from social media often raises eyebrows. This time the celebrity is none other than the MCU star, Chris Evans. However, the actor did announce his departure before deactivating his account.

But what’s intriguing is the fact that the actor decided to disappear from social media right before the 105th birth anniversary of his most prominent character, Captain America. Before temporarily deleting his Instagram and Twitter accounts, the actor informed his fans by sharing a post on social media. He wrote,

“Hey, everyone. I’m treating myself to a summer with less screen time, so I’m taking a little break from Twitter and IG. See you soon! Much love!”

Previously, in 2018, Evans celebrated Steve Rogers’ 100th birthday in an Instagram post and wrote a sweet caption referring to his character. He wrote,

“Happy 4th, everyone!! I love this country and I’m proud of how far we’ve come. Be safe today! Also, Happy Birthday to a very good friend of mine. I hear 100 is the new 20.”

However, now it seems like the seasons have changed, as Evans doesn’t seem that excited about the upcoming birthday of Steve Rogers, which falls on July 4.

It isn’t an unknown fact that the past few years have been very difficult for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the franchise is slowly losing its impact on the audience. Looking at the few previous performances of the MCU, the franchise has failed to meet the expectations of the audience. With every new release comes a new hope, but unfortunately, it dies in a few days.

Recently, when MCU star Chris Evans deactivated his social media accounts, fans speculated that he might want to escape the controversy, as the MCU is currently facing severe backlash from the audience. Moreover, it isn’t just MCU that is having a hard time engaging the audience, as recently, Evans’ recent movies, Ghosted and Lightyear also failed fans’ expectations.

However, this theory lies under speculation, as nothing as such has been claimed by the actor himself.
