“I’m still trying to get there”: Samuel L. Jackson Claims He Didn’t Like MCU For Keeping Him Out Of A Major Marvel Movie Despite His Fame

If there is an actor that stands out in all of Avengers movies, then it has to be Samuel L. Jackson. Credited with making the most appearances in MCU, Jackson has been playing his character for 15 years now. And will continue to do so as he returns back in Disney+’s new series, Secret Invasion.

Even after being in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for all this time, Jackson’s fascination with Marvel does not seem to have diminished with the years. At the premiere of his new series, the Avengers star expressed his disappointment over not being a part of another major Marvel movie.

Samuel L. Jackson has been a part of almost every major Marvel movie relating to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Having played Director Fury for 15 years, Jackson says he “feels like I’ve been playing him forever”.

Despite that, the Glass actor is disappointed that Marvel did not give him a chance to become part of the Panther Nation. At the premiere of Secret Invasion, when asked about his future ventures in the MCU, he replied,

“I don’t know, it’s kind of up and down for me in an interesting sort of way. Because, if I had it my way, I would’ve been in every Marvel movie ’cause I mean he is Nick Fury, he knows everything that’s going on. I’m still trying to figure out why I’ve never been to Wakanda.”

Revealing that Marvel hasn’t been keen on getting him into Wakanda, he said,

“They didn’t ask me to go, but I’m still trying to get there. I need a ticket.”

As much as we love the character, it feels like it that would be a lot of ‘fury’ for sure if Jackson shows up in the Vibranium Realm anytime soon.

Samuel L. Jackson will be reprising his role as Nick Fury in Disney Plus’s Secret Invasion. Based in the present, Fury will be joining his allies Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and Skrull Talos to protect planet Earth from a group of shapeshifting Skrulls. He would once again take the lead to save the planet and its habitants along with his faithful and unlikely team.

This series will also mark the first time that Don Cheadle and Samuel L. Jackson’s characters would be directly interacting with each other, and collaborating in the absence of Avengers to save Earth.

Secret Invasion will premiere on Disney Plus on June 21.
