Arnold Schwarzenegger is known for revolutionizing Hollywood action movies. While he still continues to shine on the big screen, he has taken up a new and more significant challenge of tackling climate change.
The movie star who went from rag to riches entered the world of politics when he was elected as the Governor of California. The former Mr. Universe has now become the voice of change against Climate Change as he hosted the Austrian World Summit 2023.
Arnold Schwarzenegger To Destroy Climate Change
The legendary actor, bodybuilder, and politician is known for his headstrong and opinionated nature. Often can he be seen vouching and campaigning for ‘things that matter’, demanding action. And so Arnold Schwarzenegger has been involved with the Austrian World Summit for the past eight years. Recently, for the summit’s 2023 edition, Schwarzenegger once again pledged to fight against climate change for a healthier, happier planet Earth. When asked about when he is now on a mission to save the world, the star replied,
“I’m on a mission to go and reduce greenhouse gases worldwide because I’m into having a healthy body and a healthy Earth. That’s what I’m fighting for. And that’s my crusade.”
His dedication to the challenge does not end there, he started the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative that continues to work towards the goal of achieving a healthy planet as well as a decarbonized economy by 2050. In an op-ed that he recently wrote for USA Today, he mentioned,
“We need a new environmentalism based on building and growing and common sense. Old environmentalism was afraid of growth. It hated building… today I call for a new environmentalism, based on building the clean energy projects we need as fast as we can. We have to build, build, build,”
The Terminator star believes in taking action rather than talking and has successfully contributed to the cause through his persistent efforts.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Hates Climate Change
Earlier this year, Arnold Schwarzenegger hosted the Austrian World Summit, he spoke once again for a cleaner and safer Earth. Calling for change, he spoke about how change is an emergency now that needs immediate action. While calling for change, he once again expressed his disgust about climate change and the lack of action by world leaders.
“As long as they keep talking about global climate change, they are not gonna go anywhere. ‘Cause no one gives a s*** about that. So my thing is, let’s go and rephrase this and communicate differently about it and really tell people we’re talking about pollution. Pollution creates climate change, and pollution kills.”
Having unparalleled optimism and an iron will, the 75-year-old’s efforts are applaudable and are an inspiration to many across the world.
