Cillian Murphy, the man with the red right hand has been famous for his role as the iconic Tommy Shelby in the BBC family-crime drama series Peaky Blinders. Although the actor has already a massive fan following, the fans are only going to get crazier.

In his latest project, Murphy stars in the lead role as J. Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Having given his all, Murphy talked about how he prepared for the role which will surely leave the fans even more impressed with Cillian Murphy.

Since the character of Murphy is based on a real historical figure who was the main man behind the Manhattan Project, Cillian Murphy had to give it his all to portray the character accurately. In a report, the actor talked about the efforts that he had to put in for originality.

As per the reports, to prepare for the role of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the Batman Begins actor read the biography book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer alongside several others. Not only this, but the actor also worked with physicist Kip Thorne (who previously worked on Interstellar) to help him understand the role better.

The actor also worked closely with Nolan and costume designer Ellen Mirojnick to perfect the look of J. Robert Oppenheimer, his intense gaze, his pipe, etc. In a statement, Cillian Murphy clarified, however, that he wasn’t trying to do an impression of Oppenheimer.

“I’m not trying to do an impression of Robert Oppenheimer,” says Murphy. “It’s an Oppenheimer distilled from the Oppenheimer we see in historical materials and the Oppenheimer that I met in Chris’s script. It was a long process of reaching a synthesis of representation and interpretation.”

With the actor having such confidence in himself, fans loved Cillian Murphy in any role that he portrayed. The actor has essentially stated that Nolan’s upcoming magnum opus is essentially a cinematic experience and urged the people to watch it “on the biggest fu*king screen possible”.

“I think it’s a truly essential cinematic experience. And I know that’s what I’m supposed to say, that’s the studio line. But you have to see this in the cinema on the biggest fu*king screen possible. There are moments in it that will blow people’s lids off.”

With such hype and dedication to realism, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is all set to hit the theater screens on 21st July 2023 across the world.
