Eva Longoria’s Husband Did Not Watch Her Hit Series
The fact that Eva Longoria’s husband didn’t watch even one episode of the critically renowned TV show Desperate Housewives, which earned her nominations for Golden Globes, may come as a surprise to many.
“My husband has still never seen it. He just never watched it,” said the actress. “[He’s] like the only person in the world who hasn’t seen Desperate Housewives.”
“He’s never known me as working. He’s like, ‘Oh, so you’re an actress?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m a pretty big deal in China. People see my show all over the world.'”
Longoria’s husband Jose Antonio Baston did try to watch the beloved series.
“People come up to me all the time and he just doesn’t really get it. He’s like, ‘They really like you.’ Then he goes like, ‘I’m going to watch, I’m going to watch. Everybody talks about it, I’m gonna watch.'”
“He tries to watch and, of course, I’m, like, banging the gardener in the first season and he’s like, ‘I don’t want to watch!’“
Desperate Housewives ran for eight seasons, cementing her status as one of the most prominent actresses of her time.
Eva Longoria Talks about Desperate Housewives Reboot
During an appearance on GoodDay New York, Eva Longoria revealed her thoughts on a potential reboot of the Desperate Housewives.
Eva Longoria says she would love to do a Desperate Housewives reboot — she’s just not so sure her former co-stars would join her.
“I would be the first to sign up,” Longoria, who played model-turned-housewife Gabrielle Solis on the show, revealed. “I mean, I love [it]. I miss Gabby. But I think I’d be the only one to sign up,” she continued.
‘We used to, back in the day, we used to shoot 24 episodes a season and we did that for eight years. We fully mined those characters,” Longoria explained, before adding, “There was nobody left on the street for me to sleep with. I slept with everybody.“
Longoria further stated that Marc Cherry, the show’s creator, has no interest in returning to Desperate Housewives.
“He feels like there’s no Why now? For the sake of a reboot, he wouldn’t do it. He feels like, ‘What do I have to say with these characters that we haven’t already fully mined.’”
Desperate Housewives aired for eight seasons from 2004 to 2012 and also starred Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Brenda Strong, and Nicollette Sheridan.
While there may not be a Desperate Housewives reboot in the near future, audiences can still relish the memories of Gabrielle Solis and her fellow housewives’ scandalous and fascinating lifestyles.
