The rumor died down after the confirmed cameo and roles that the actor was going to receive in the DCEU as the higher-ups listened to the public along with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Although the rumors died down, the people still couldn’t resist but ask questions regarding any Marvel role that the actor might join.

Josh Horowitz from MTV asked Henry Cavill several questions regarding his role (if any) in the MCU and here’s how the conversation went.

Horowitz: “Should I read body language or anything from the fact that he didn’t respond to my ‘Loki’ question?”

Cavill: “I forgot the ‘Loki’ question!”

Horowitz: “Just that that was a rumor going around that you were gonna be in ‘Loki’.”

Cavill: “As far as I know, I am not going to be in ‘Loki’.”

But that’s not all! The conversation took a twist when Henry Cavill compared himself to James Gunn. The director has worked for both Marvel and DC and is currently working alongside both studios which means the Man of Steel actor might be able to do so as well.

Seemingly continuing the conversation, the Mission Impossible actor mentioned James Gunn during their talks. The actor mentioned that as James Gunn is currently working for both studios, he could do it as well!

Horowitz: “Ok, fair enough. I’m just…asking what the people wanna know.”

Cavill: “It would be a tricky one to handle at this stage.”

Horowitz: “Fair enough.”

Cavill: “If James Gunn could do it, maybe I can too.”

James Gunn is best known for directing The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise which will release its third part soon while also working on the Peacemaker series which will have a second season. James Gunn will allegedly leave Marvel following the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 but continue his work in DC. This could mean that Henry Cavill might continue his role as Superman in the DCEU while taking another role in the MCU!

Loki Season 2 is expected to release in mid-2023 on Disney+.
