"I'm n*ked on his shoulder": Shia LaBeouf Explains Knocking Out Bulked Up Tom Hardy When Actor Was Preparing for Bane Role

Hollywood has been infamous for conflicts since forever, with no shortages of them in recent years. Apart from Twitter battles or indirect press fights, there have been face-to-face brawls between actors on-set and off-set. A famous instance of this has been the beef between Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy.

Both actors have had their fair share of fights and conflicts already. So it wasn’t news to many when the rumor of them in an altercation hit the headlines. It was rumored that the two stars were involved in a knock-out fight during the filming of Lawless back in 2012.

While there was a rumor that a brawl took place between the two Lawless costars, nothing much was confirmed from the two stars. Tom Hardy did speak up about it claiming Shia LaBeouf had knocked him out after being drunk on moonshine.

However, this is far from the truth as Shia LaBeouf debunked Hardy’s claims and the rumors back in 2019 on the talk show Hot Ones. Calling it a bunch of bulls*t, he explained he knocked out Hardy when he was preparing for his Bane role.

“My girlfriend at the time was over at my house, we were on this balcony. We saw him and his trainer coming back from the gym. We used to f**k with each other all the time but it just so happened that, this one week, my girlfriend was in town and he runs into the room. The girl I was with at the time was terrified. She covered up and she ran into the kitchen and he picked me up and I didn’t have nothing on so now I’m n*ked on his shoulder. We’re in the hallway, we’re wrestling around … We wound up inching over to the stairs and he fell down the stairs. He wound up hurting his back, so for the rest of the shoot he said I knocked him out, but that wasn’t the case.”

While LaBeouf’s version is way different from Hardy’s, a match of n*ked wrestling seems to be the wildest brawl of all time in the world of Hollywood.

Back in 2011, Tom Hardy opened up about his altercation with his Lawless co-star. However, the Venom star’s version was very different from LaBeouf’s. In an interview with Den of Geek, Hardy stated,

“I got knocked out by Shia LaBeouf, actually, In Wettest County, apparently. He knocked me out sparko. Out cold. He’s a bad, bad boy. He is. He’s quite intimidating as well. He’s a scary dude.”

When asked about how the fight actually started, Hardy said,

“He just attacked me. He was drinking moonshine. I was wearing a cardigan, and er, went down. I woke up in Pnut’s (his trainer) arms.”

It seems difficult to figure out the straight shooter when both versions seem like the truth. Despite the famous beef between the two, Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy often seem to be respectful of each other, praising each other’s acting any chance they get.
