Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s marriage has often been a topic of discussion in the media. The pair not only make a great on-screen couple, but they also have great chemistry off-screen. The two have appeared in many films together and will soon share work in the upcoming sports drama Unstoppable.
The film features Jlo in the lead, and it’s produced by her husband, Affleck. Perhaps it seems like the two have a similar choice when it comes to signing a movie. But this can’t be said for their preferences when it comes to watching something. Previously, during a podcast, Affleck expressed his annoyance with Jlo’s favorite series.
Ben Affleck isn’t very fond of JLo’s preferences
Ben Affleck previously appeared on The Bill Simmons Podcast to promote his latest film, “Air.” During the conversation, the Oscar-winning actor admitted that he is often confused with his wife’s TV preferences. The Batman actor further explained that it’s so because JLo has this affinity for Taylor Sheridan’s Western soap opera “Yellowstone.” The actor said,
“I’m kind of disturbed that my wife really likes ‘Yellowstone.'”
The actor stated that the reason behind her obsession with the show is its romantic plotline. The series features Cole Hauser and Kelly Reily as a married couple, and the chemistry between them is what drew Jlo to the series. According to Affleck, JLo is persistent in making him like the show, as she shows him clips from the series to ignite interest in him. The actor said,
“Jen showed me a clip of her off of Instagram, the monologue she has with the kid in the car about the ways to become rich. And then she was like, ‘I love this story of these two.’ I was like, ‘Wait a minute? With Hauser? With Cole Hauser? What do you love about it?'”
Perhaps Affleck’s reaction to Jlo’s preference is because the character Jlo has been obsessing over is Rip Wheeler, played by Cole Hauser. Surprisingly, Hauser and Affleck have previously worked together in the Oscar-winning film Good Will Hunting. During the same podcast in which he appeared with his co-star and friend Matt Damon, the actors recalled their experience while filming with Hauser. Damon said,
“When we worked with him, he was 16, I’ll never forget. We were driving back into Boston — leaving set for the first week, driving into Cambridge — and we’re like, ‘Leaving me and you out, who’s the f—in’ best actor here?’ And both of us, at the same time, were like, ‘Hauser. He was raw talent, just astonishing, and just the sweetest soul. He is very convincing as that guy,” Affleck admits. “I think America believes he is Rip.”
Even if Affleck is not very thrilled with the idea of Lopez watching Yellowstone, he doesn’t have to be bothered now, as the production of the series has been halted mid-season due to reported issues regarding its star Kevin Costner and his contract.
Why is the Yellowstone series halted?
Previously, it was reported that there is a conflict going on between the Yellowstone maker Taylor Sheridan’ and Kevin Costner regarding his contract. The tension arose between the two because Costner failed to complete his part in Season 5.
According to the sources, the actor agreed to shoot for just one week on the second half of Yellowstone Season 5. Costner’s unavailability made it hard to complete the series; hence, it was announced by the makers that Yellowstone might end sooner than expected.
Later, Yellowstone confirmed that the actor had departed from the franchise. Though Costner will no longer be seen in the series, it has been announced by Sheridan that there can be a spin-off of the series with a new location and characters.
