Humble, hilarious, charismatic, ridiculously intelligent? Jon Stewart would certainly be an impeccable man to strike up a profound and memorable conversation with. No wonder Emily Blunt wants a taste of what would certainly make for a rich experience. Matt Damon’s loyalties, however, lie with one and only one person; it’s a no-brainer really.
Matt Damon Doesn’t Have to Think Twice When It Comes to His BFF
When Oppenheimer stars Matt Damon and Emily Blunt sat down for a new interview about their forthcoming war drama, the two were asked to name the one person that they’d love to have “a brilliant, inspiring conversation” with. For Blunt, it was comedian Jon Stewart that took the cake. “I would love to talk to Jon Stewart for a month solid. But not sleeping. Just a month solid of talking to him,” she said. Damon, however, went with his long-time pal, Ben Affleck.
“I’m gonna be a little lame. I’ll say Ben Affleck. He’s one of my favorite people to talk to. […] He’s a conversational prize fighter.”
Be it a tête-à-tête or making a movie, Affleck seems to be the Jason Bourne star’s go-to person for pretty much everything. Oh well, a friendship spanning four decades will do that to you.
Ben Affleck & Matt Damon – Hollywood’s Inimitable Duo
Damon and Affleck have been inseparable since they were kids wandering the streets of Massachusetts. Not only did they get to witness each other’s fabled transition to star power, but they’ve also had the pleasure of joining forces on more than one occasion, with the sports drama Air being their most recent collaboration.
Both the actors set foot into the dazzling world of Hollywood together with 1997’s Good Will Hunting marking their debut, the unparalleled success of which bagged both of them their first-ever Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay. And nothing says ‘best friends for life’ louder than winning an Oscar together, now does it?
Ever since then, their dynamic duo has been a force to be reckoned with; from being flat-out broke to having the entire world cheer for them, Damon and Affleck have been through it all together, each sticking by the other’s side through thick and thin. They’ve even spent a good chunk of their lives being roommates, albeit, neither of them would like to revisit that part of their friendship. Nevertheless, The Last Duel stars continue to be one of the industry’s most popular duos, to this very day.
Damon and Affleck also own a film production company called Artists Equity which they launched just last year in November.
