Samuel L. Jackson is one of the most established and famous actors in the industry. The American actor first rose to fame back in 1988 for his role as Leeds in the musical comedy film, School Daze. Jackson is also the highest-grossing actor of all time as his movies have collectively grossed over $27 billion worldwide. Although the actor has been in the industry since 1988, he rose to mainstream fame and media after starring in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 classic, Pulp Fiction.

According to sources, Samuel L. Jackson terrified the hell out of director Quentin Tarantino, and co-executive producer, Richard Gladstein in his audition, so much so that they decided to give him the iconic role of Jules Winnfield in the movie, Pulp Fiction.

Samuel L. Jackson scared the sh*t out of producers on his audition for Pulp Fiction

Pulp Fiction will definitely go down as one of the greatest movies in the history of cinema. The movie was also Samuel L. Jackson‘s first of many collaborations with the legendary director, Quentin Tarantino. However, in his audition, the actor allegedly scared the hell out of the producers of the movie. Once in an interview, Richard Gladstein revealed how Jackson arrived at the audition of Pulp Fiction. He said,

“In comes Sam with a burger in his hand and a drink in the other hand and stinking like fast food. Me and Quentin and Lawrence [Bender] were sitting on the couch, and he walked in and just started sipping that shake and biting that burger and looking at all of us. I was scared shitless. I thought that this guy was going to shoot a gun right through my head. His eyes were popping out of his head. And he just stole the part.”

Even if that was not enough, Jackson actually threatened to shoot the producers in the face if they did not give him the part.

Samuel L. Jackson once revealed that he was already angry and tired before turning up for the audition of Pulp Fiction. And when he finally did arrive at the audition, someone mistook him for Laurence Fishburne. Jackson talked about the incident and said,

“It was like a slow burn. ‘He doesn’t know who I am?’ I was kind of like, ‘F**k it’. At that point I really didn’t care.”

The producer of the movie, Lawrence Bender revealed in the same interview, that the Coach Carter actor actually threatened to shoot the producers if they did not give him the part. Talking about Jackson, Bender said,

“He was the guy you see in the movie. He said, ‘Do you think you’re going to give this part to somebody else? I’m going to blow you motherf****rs away.’”
