The Bird Box actress has in recent years made an incredible return to the big screens with projects that have been stellar blockbusters one after the other. The actress not only celebrated the Hollywood megaproducer’s actions being finally exposed and Weinstein being held accountable for his actions but at the same time, Bullock expressed worry and concern for the women who were brave enough to come forward with their allegations and horrifying experiences. The actress claimed, “I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is amazing, but f**k, f**k, f**k, what if it doesn’t work? Please, God, let it not swing the other way.’” At the same time, Sandra Bullock also revealed her own terrifying encounter with the accused and how she treated it as a learning moment: “After that, I tended to remove anything that could be misconstrued as sexual. I locked it down.”
Sandra Bullock Threatens Her Bird Box Co-Star With Violence
While it may not be much, Sandra Bullock’s time filming the Netflix production of Bird Box was an influential one. For one, the actress completely crushed her performance as the leading lady in the horror thriller directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker, Susanne Bier, making the film the most-watched Netflix Original Film of all time until the release of Red Notice and Don’t Look Up. During the filming of the horror project, Bullock was very direct and precise about her feelings regarding the Weinstein scandal, and to all her male co-stars, she said:
I know you’re scared, but I feel safe, so you can make some jokes now. But if you cross the line, I will f*ck you up.
The actress went on to stun and shock the audience with her inimitable and relentless tour-de-force performance as the single mother of two in the film. Her act as Malorie Hayes not only gives Bird Box its thematic sense of urgency and looming danger but anchors the performance as a terrified mother on the run from invisible monsters while going to unbelievably painful lengths to get her children to safety.
