The rivalry between the co-actors is a common topic in Hollywood. But what’s more common in the film industry are rumors without any base. Recently, a rumor swirled in the media that Barbie actors Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu have a sour relationship off-screen.
However, Liu denied all such claims and clarified that he and Gosling get along really well. During an interview, Gosling also talked highly about his Barbie co-star.
Simu Liu denies conflict with Ryan Gosling
Greta Gerwig’s film Barbie has created a buzz among the audience. Amidst the hype of the film, it was reported that the actors of the film, Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu, are not on good terms. The rumor sparked when the two actors appeared at an event to promote their latest film.
At the event, both the actors were posing together, while Liu put his arm around Gosling’s waist, and Gosling said something inaudible to Liu, to which he responded by saying, “You don’t what –- oh, it’s too tender? Fair enough.”
Later, the Marvel star removed his hand from Gosling’s waist. This whole scenario was interpreted by the viewers as a conflict between the actors.
However, recently, Liu clarified that there is no such conflict between the two actors, moreover, he said that both of them share a great bond. Liu posted an Instagram story and mentioned,
“I’d beach off with this Kenadian again in a heartbeat. He is the best human in every way, especially when he jokes around with us on the carpet and on set, infecting all of us with his kenergy.”
The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings actor further addressed the rumors and stated that there are more important things that deserve media attention at the moment, like the ongoing strikes in Hollywood.
The Equation Between Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu
In the film Barbie, Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu are seen playing the roles of Ken dolls. Liu and Gosling have a sour relationship in the movie. But in real life, both of them share a great bond. Liu highly admires the Notebook actor and claims that he helped him perform better in the film. During an interview with Men’s Health, Liu expressed his thrill at working with Gosling. The actor said,
“He’s obviously just an incredibly talented performer, but from the first rehearsal we ever did, I was like… he absolutely blew me away. And I was like, ‘Oh my god, I’m really gonna have to bring it for the shoot because this guy is going to eat my lunch if I’m not fully 100% prepared for anything.'”
The actor further added that he is impressed with Gosling’s impeccable acting skills. Liu isn’t the only one who admires Gosling, as the feeling is mutual here. During another interview, Gosling also praised Liu and said that he admires his Kenergy.
