Having a career of more than 30 years, Sandra Bullock has proved her versatility by portraying characters in movies, including The Blind Side (2009), The Proposal (2009), The Heat (2013), Gravity (2013), and more.
In her 2018 thriller Bird Box, she plays a mother (Malorie Hayes) of two young children — a role that reflects the actress’ life as a mom to an 8-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter.
While Bullock almost spends most of the running time in the midst of survival horror, she says that the aura on the set was much lighter than what the movie was actually about. The actress used to bring her own kids, Louis and Laila, to the shoot, where they got to hang out and play with the young stars of the film.
Sandra Bullock Wants to Be With Her Children 24*7
Sandra Bullock loves her kids so much that she can’t live without them even for an instance. The Lost City star, once told Entertainment Tonight:
“I take my job very seriously when I’m at work. … And I just want to be 24/7 with my babies and my family. That’s where I’m gonna be for a while.”
Bullock spoke with ET at the premiere of Bird Box and told about her kids’ time with her child co-stars, Vivien Lyra Blair and Julian Edwards:
“LEGOs was a big thing, [also] tag and catch,” Bullock recalled. “I mean, when you get to little people, there are basically three things that they like to do, and all three of those were done on set.”
The star also feels fortunate to work in an industry that allows her to have her kids nearby while she works. As it is visible, her love for her children is inevitable. And even with a busy career, the Oscar-winning actress has always remained dedicated to her parenting responsibilities.
Sandra Bullock Never Felt Fear of Motherhood
In 2018, Bird Box became Netflix’s top original hit, which proved Sandra Bullock’s status as a global movie star. Her presence turned an average B-movie into an exciting and touching experience.
This movie will probably give you some nightmares because it deals a lot with the nature of fear and its impact on your life. One of the fears Bullock’s character faces in the movie is the choice and outcomes of motherhood in a difficult world.
But in real life, the actress said that she never felt any fear of motherhood and embraced it so much that she wanted to have a baby at the age of 17. She said:
“I would have been pregnant or knocked up at 17. I wanted to be a mom at a very young age. So I kind of felt the drive and the desire to.”
Bullock added that there’s one main reason why it didn’t happen, and the reason was her mother because she kept her daughter under lock and key.
