The seeds of Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson’s complicated relationship were first sown during Johnson’s introduction in the 5th installment of The Fast and the Furious franchise. Despite the anticipation of two big action stars going head to head on the screen, Diesel and Johnson’s relationship off-screen was far from perfect.
The Guardians of the Galaxy actor and the Black Adam star allegedly clashed over creative differences in the film which was bankrolled by Diesel himself. Among the many controversial statements that the two celebrities have made regarding their feud, one of Diesel’s statements which spoke of his involvement in Dwayne Johnson’s acting process raised many eyebrows among audiences on social media.
Vin Diesel Trolled For Giving Acting Lessons To Dwayne Johnson
Dwayne Johnson first appeared in The Fast and The Furious series in the 5th installment Fast Five where he played the role of Vin Diesel’s rival Luke Hobbs. Diesel who was also the producer of the film, spoke about his involvement with The Rock’s character and his role in ensuring that Hobbs was portrayed in the right manner.
“My approach at the time was a lot of tough love to assist in getting that performance where it needed to be. I would do anything I’d have to do in order to get performances in anything I’m producing.”
Following his statement, Vin Diesel was subjected to massive trolling on social media by viewers who criticized him for giving acting lessons to Dwayne Johnson. The backlash took an even more brutal tone with netizens questioning Diesel’s “nerve” to coach Johnson considering that acting had never been the Marvel star’s strong suit.
Fast X Could Be Part Of A Trilogy, Says Vin Diesel
Leading up to the release of Fast X, Vin Diesel stated that the film will be part of a two-film finale with the 11th installment slated to release in 2025. But the actor speaking recently to Variety, seemingly dropped another bigger announcement about the films.
“Going into making this movie, the studio asked if this could be a two-parter. And after the studio saw this one, they said, ‘Could you make the finale, a trilogy?”
When pressed further for details regarding the possibility of a trilogy, the action star took the cautious route and stepped down from making any more revelations about the films. The actor had earlier addressed rumors about the inclusion of Marvel superstar Robert Downey Jr. in a pivotal role in The Fast and the Furious 11. In trademark tongue-in-cheek fashion, Diesel who is a self-confessed fanboy of Downey Jr, expressed his desire to have the Iron Man actor on board but did not reveal details regarding his conservation with Downey Jr. about the same.
