Celebrity feuds are nothing new in the entertainment world. However, when it comes to Lady Gaga and Madonna, it is quite complex as the duo has often thrown shades on each other however in their subtle manners. Their longstanding feud seems to get cold sometimes but it gets reignited either by some new statements or their old comments.
Coming from the same genre in the music industry, they are often get compared among their fans. However, it went a bit far when Gaga was asked about their cold war which she took it quite seriously!
Lady Gaga Claimed to Be in a Different League Than Madonna!
The 37-year-old actress, Lady Gaga in an interview with Beats 1 Radio took a direct jab at the Queen of Pop, Madonna when she implied that she was “very different” from the $850M songstress. She shared at the time,
“Just saying. We’re very different. I wouldn’t make that comparison at all.”
She further continued to stay adamant about her views when she started counting the differences between her and the Pop Queen. While it initially looked just like a clarification, things started getting out of hand.
“I don’t mean to disrespect Madonna, she’s a nice lady, and she’s had a fantastic huge career, biggest pop star of all time. But I play a lot of instruments. I write all my own music. I spend hours and hours a day in the studio. I’m a producer. I’m a writer. What I do is different.”
Ouch! Did she just call the influential personality a showgirl who had a huge career but no talent? Well, it did feel like that to many of her fans who were not happy about Gaga’s choice of words. The Fame singer further continued that she has spontaneity in her work which emerged when she overcame her failures.
Lady Gaga Took a Direct Hit at Madonna!
Though she continued to state how her music is different from the True Blue singer, she eventually cornered the latter by sharing that she won’t be compared to anyone.
The Joker: Folie à Deux actress shared,
“I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way. I will not be compared to anyone. I am who the f**k I am, and this is me.”
Though their feud seemed to have confused many as to whether they are on cold terms or have left behind the bad blood for a better relationship. Back in 2019, the Like a Virgin singer told British Vogue that the duo “never were enemies.”
Though they are on similar music paths, Gaga is also taking active participation in the acting industry and is set to take over the role of Harley Quinn from Margot Robbie for the Joker sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 4, 2024.
