But with her seriousness in acting she was constantly compared to Jennifer Lopez, which she did not like at all. And during an interview, she stated that the comparisons need to stop at their origin, as both have different perspectives on their acting careers.
“I would like to think I will have a more serious career than J.Lo. We may both be of Latin origin but that’s where the comparisons stop. She managers her career like the head of a big corporation, whereas the only thing I care about is becoming the best actress possible.”
In a different interview, the Out of Time actress stated that J.Lo was not her role model, and her presence in the industry did not help her time easier in Hollywood.
“I don’t know. I wouldn’t call them my role models. It does make it easier in a sense, but in a way it doesn’t. They have opened a lot of doors and have made it easier, but at the same time just because I’m Latin, I don’t feel like I’m either one of them or one of their types. I feel like, I want to compete or be considered for a role Gwyneth Paltrow will be up for as well as Salma Hayek would be up for.”
