Robert Downey Jr. acknowledged his contribution as Iron Man in shaping the MCU

If you’d asked me in 2008, 2009, 2010 how I felt about it, I would say that I was the Atlas of the Marvel Universe. I was holding it up well. They should erect a shrine in my honor.”
